Fiorentina secure fourth place in Serie A

( dpa )- Fiorentina defeated Catania 2-1 on Sunday to move back into fourth place in the Italian Serie A.

The Florence club have three points more than AC Milan, who dropped to fifth again after being held to a 0-0 by lowly Parma the previous day.

Udinese won 3-1 at second-from-last Reggina while Sampdoria beat 10-man Genoa 1-0 in a city derby. Palermo defeated bottom side Cagliari 2- 1, Lazio won 3-0 over Atalanta, while Siena are in the drop zone after a 0-0 draw at Torino. Empoli left the relegation zone as they won 3-1 at Napoli, who had two men dismissed.

On Saturday, frontrunners Inter Milan beat Livorno 2-0 and raised their lead to 11 points lead over Roma, who lost 1-0 away to third- place Juventus.
