(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia 76ers attempt to stave off elimination, as they host the Detroit Pistons tonight at the Wachovia Center for Game 6 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series. Detroit leads this best-of-seven series 3-2. If necessary, Game 7 is scheduled for Saturday at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The Pistons captured the pivotal Game 5 on Tuesday at home. Chauncey Billups recorded 21 points and 12 assists to lead No. 2 Detroit to a convincing, 98-81 victory over the seventh-seeded Sixers. Billups struggled from the field in the first four games of the series, sinking just 35.7 percent from the floor, but recovered to hit 7-of- 14 in a blowout victory for the Pistons, who shot 58.1 percent as a whole. Richard Hamilton scored 20 and Rasheed Wallace netted 19, while Tayshaun Prince added 17 points on 8-of-14 from the field. Jason Maxiell pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds to go along with six points in the victory.
