Rafael Nadal celebrated a victorious 22nd birthday as he demolished fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 on Tuesday at the French Open, dpa reported.

The three-time winner wasted no time in making sure he would be free for any celebratory dinners as he sliced through on the clay in just over 90 minutes.

Nadal has never lost at Roland Garros and reached the semi-finals with his 26th consecutive win at the venue.

He will face off in the semis for the tenth time against third seed Novak Djokovic carrying a 7-3 record into the match, beating the Serb last month in the Hamburg semi-finals.

Almagro won only ten points in a quick first set lasting 27 minutes and faded further to take the loss.
