Hamas and Israel reach truce
An Egyptian official announced Tuesday that Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas agreed on the first stage of Egyptian proposals to end hostilities in the Gaza Strip, which will come into effect on Thursday morning, the state news agency MENA reported.
The official, whose name was not given, said both sides would end hostilities in the Gaza Strip at the same time, MENA said.
Egypt will continue its efforts in order to implement the rest of the proposals, the official said.
