The creator of hit political TV series Aaron Sorkin is to write a movie about the world's most popular social networking site, Facebook, he announced Thursday in a posting to the site.
Sorkin announced the project by setting up a pair of Facebook pages, one a group, and one a personal page that doesn't actually allow you to become his friend.
"I've just agreed to write a movie for Sony and producer Scott Rudin about how Facebook was invented," Sorkin wrote. "I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is, so I've started this page. (Actually it was started by my researcher, Ian Reichbach, because my grandmother has more Internet savvy than I do and she's been dead for 33 years.)"
It was unclear whether the movie will focus on the inventor or users of Facebook, but Sorkin did appeal for funny Facebook stories from group members. ( dpa )
