China Monday provided Costa Rica with 100,000 U.S. dollars in relief aid for a devastating earthquake which killed at least 25 people in the central American country, Xinhua reported.
A 6.2-magnitude quake took place near capital city San Jose on Jan. 8. The Chinese donation will be used for infrastructure reconstruction.
It is estimated that 120,000 people were affected by the quake and its economic losses amounted to over 100 million dollars.
China had donated 60,000 dollars to Costa Rica in the aftermaths of hurricane "hanna" and Pacific coast storms in 2008.
