A serial quakes with magnitudes of 5.7 and 5.2 struck eastern parts of Indonesia on Thursday, no report of damage or casualty, meteorology agency said here.
The 5.7 magnitude quake jolted at 10:01 Jakarta time (0301 GMT)with epicenter at 22 kilometers northwest Labuha town of North Maluku province and at 105 kilometers under land, an official of the agency Rahma Baharruddin told Xinhua .
The intensity of the quake was felt at 2 MMI (Modified Mercally Intensity) at the town, she said.
Five hours earlier, the 5.2 quake hit Maluku province with epicenter at 78 kilometers northeast Saumlaki town of the province and at 78 kilometers under sea bed, said Baharruddin.
