Spain celebrates Nadal's triumph in Australian Spectacle

Spain applauded on Sunday for the triumph of Rafael Nadal against Roger Federer in the Australian Open, which is the first time Spaniard winning this tournament, Xinhua reported.

Nadal, current world number one of tennis, defeated his eternal rival Roger Federer in five sets 7-5, 3-6, 7-6, 3-6, 6-2 in 4 hours and 23 minutes in a high-quality match with excellent performance and great excitement.

At the end of the match with tears, Federer said: "Nadal is killing me." When receiving the trophy, Nadal said: "Federer, a phenomenon around the arena."

"The adjectives on Nadal's victory are never enough, but the reality is that he has already been considered by the experts of the Spanish sports as the greatest competitor in Spain's history," Spanish press said.

"Federer used to be the favorite of the tournament, however, Nadal never showed weakness and his performance was perfect when beating Federer, who was also one of the best players of world tennis," it read.
