SV Hamburg striker Mladen Petric on Thursday had a two-match ban confirmed by the sports court of the German football association, dpa reported.
The Croatian international was red carded in Hamburg's 3-2 Bundesliga defeat at Karlsruhe on Saturday, but appealed against the automatic two-game suspension.
After a hearing on Thursday the court ruled that the single judge, who issued the two-match ban on Tuesday, had been correct in his assessment and turned down Petric's appeal.
He will now miss Hamburg's games against Arminia Bielefeld this weekend and next week's match against Bayer Leverkusen.
