Deaths from A/H1N1 flu rise to 45 in Mexico
Total deaths from influenza A/ H1N1 in Mexico rose to 45, while the number of infected people reached 1,364, the Mexican Health Ministry (SSA) said on Friday, according to Xinhua.
Among the total deaths 58 percent were women, and 42 percent men, Mexican Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova said at a press conference.
According to Cordova, most of the infected people were aged between 20 and 54.
Among the deaths so far reported, 40 occurred before April 23, while the remaining occurred after that date.
Cordova also said that the rise of cases in the southern state of Guerrero, which now has a total of 10, does not mean an exceptional outbreak.
