Operation kicks off against insurgents in far-flanged Afghan district

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) have launched operation against Taliban fighters in the far-flanged Nadali district of Helmand province in southern Afghanistan, a local newspaper reported Monday.
  
"A big cleanup operation has been launched in Nadali and Chanjir districts to root out Taliban insurgents," daily 8 Subh reported quoting Afghan and ISAF officials in Helmand province, Xinhua reported.
  
A spokesman of ISAF in Helmand province Richard Sun and commander of Afghan forces in the province General Mohidin Ghori told newsmen in provincial capital Lashkar Gah, the other day that several militants had been killed since launching the operation, according to the newspaper.
  
However, both officials did not say the exact date of launching operation but describing the objective ensuring stability and establishing security posts there.
  
Helmand is a hotbed of Taliban in south Afghanistan and it was said that the militants have control over five districts there.
