Obama to meet Lebanese president Suleiman soon: White House
U.S. President Barack Obama will meet his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman on December 14 and discuss a broad range of issues of mutual concern, said the White House on Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
President Obama looks forward to consulting with his Lebanese counterpart on a broad range of mutual concern, including efforts to strengthen the bilateral relationship, achieve a comprehensive regional peace, and implement relevant UN Security Council resolutions, said a White House statement.
The Lebanese president is expected to arrive in Washington on December 12 and to meet with National Security Adviser James Jones, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Defense Secretary Roberts Gates.
Obama and Suleiman had met in September on the sideline of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York.
