A man went on a killing spree and shot dead 11 people and seriously injured one Saturday morning in central China's Hunan province, provincial police said, Xinhua reported.
The crime occurred at about 5 a.m. when the 34-year-old man surnamed Liu fired a shotgun at people in his own village of Gaoming township in Yiyang City's Anhua County, a police spokesman with Hunan's Department of Public Security said.
Liu also set five houses on fire, he added.
The critically injured is being treated in a local hospital, he said.
The police are hunting down the suspect while probing further into the case, the spokesman said without giving more details.
