Elephant tramples American woman and daughter to death in Kenya
An elephant trampled an American woman and her young daughter to death as they walked through a nature reserve in central Kenya, a police spokesperson said Wednesday, DPA reported.
The woman had been hiking through the Mount Kenya National Forest on Tuesday with her husband, daughter, and three other people, as well as an unarmed guide, when an elephant appeared behind them and attacked.
The woman's husband, the other guests, and the guide managed to escape being trampled. They were reportedly still in shock.
Gamekeepers of the Kenya Wildlife Service, alerted by the hotel where the family was residing, were able to recover the bodies.
