At least five people were killed and 20 others were injured during a traffic accident on Friday early morning in the south of Peru, police sources said, Xinhua reported.
The accident occurred when a passenger bus left the road and fell into a cliff of 15 meters depth at the kilometer 619 of the South Pan American highway, near Chala district in Caraveli province, in Arequipa department.
The bus had left from Lima going to Tacna department, bordering with Chile.
Apparently the fog and the speeding caused the accident.
Local sources say road accidents kill some 3,500 people each year in Peru.
