Three people died and 57 others were missing when landslides hit a village in Baoshan City of southwest China's Yunnan Province Wednesday night, local government said Thursday, Xinhua reported.

The landslides happened at Wama Village of Longyang District, the provincial government's emergency office said in a statement.

It said the area was home to 20 families of about 82 people.

Rescuers saved 11 of the villagers in time, while 11 others were working away from home and were therefore unaffected by the disaster, the document said.
