The military chiefs of South Korea and Russia met Monday for talks aimed at bolstering military cooperation between the two countries, Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said, Xinhua reported.
South Korea's JCS Chairman Han Min-Koo met with his Russian counterpart Nikolai Makarov in Seoul and discussed security situations in the region and promoting exchanges of military personnel, aircraft and warships, the JCS said in a statement.
Makarov is on a three-day official visit to Seoul at the invitation of Han, and is scheduled to meet with South Korean defense minister Kim Tae-young, according to the JCS.
