A bus carrying members of a funeral procession collided with another bus in northern India on Saturday, killing 34, the local IANS news agency reported.
The accident occurred near the town of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh state, some 200 kilometers southwest of Delhi, RIA Novosti reported.
The bus carrying the mourners overturned after the driver lost control of the vehicle, the news agency said.
Shortly after, the bus was hit by another bus coming from the opposite direction.
The driver of the overturned bus was killed in the accident and another 12 people were injured and hospitalized.
About 100,000 people die annually in road accidents in India.
