Police have freed the kidnapped son of Russian computer entrepreneur Yevgeny Kaspersky, the founder of the global anti-virus software firm Kaspersky Lab, the press office of the Moscow police said on Sunday,
"The Moscow criminal police acting jointly with the Federal Security Service and with the support of riot police have set free the kidnapped son of Kaspersky in one of the districts in the Moscow Region, RIA Novosti reported.
His health condition is satisfactory," Viktor Biryukov, head of the Moscow police press office, said.
Biryukov said that five people had been detained in the operation.Ivan Kaspersky, 20, was reportedly kidnapped while on his way to work on Tuesday. Russian news site Life News said kidnappers demanded 3 million euros ($4.3 million) in return for freeing Ivan.
Kaspersky Lab is one of Russia's few stand-out successes not related to its energy sector.
