The Dagestan Republic Interior Ministry's representative reported the murder of the head of the information-analytical department and presidential press service, Garun Kurbanov and his driver, RIA-Novosti reported.
" The incident occurred at around 8:15 a.m. on the Montasheva Street in Makhachkala. Unknown people fired at Kurbanov's Toyota Camry. According to preliminary reports, the official and his driver were killed", the source said.
The Makhachkala Interior Affairs Department's representative told RIA-Novosti that the criminals fired at Kurbanov when he left home and headed for his car.
"An investigative-operation group is working at the scene to clarify the details", the source added.
The Dagestan Investigation Department's representative confirmed the murder of Kurbanov and his driver in an attack. "There are pre-investigation checks; all the possibilities are being determined", the source said.
