Gunmen carried out a simultaneous attacks against the offices of the provincial governor and police in a southern Afghan city, a government spokesman said on Thursday, dpa reported.
The militants attacked the governor's office, police headquarters and other government installations in
Tarinkot, the capital of Uruzgan province, on Thursday, said Ahmad Milad Modasar, spokesman for the governor.
A security official who requested anonymity said that seven explosions rocked the city in different locations. One hit the governor's office while another targeted the office of the police chief, he said.
Casualties were feared but there was no confirmation by the spokesman.
