Chiyono Hasegawa was born on November 20, 1896, the year when the first modern Olympic Games was held in Athens, Greece, DPA reported.

Jiroemon Kimura, a 114-year-old man in Kyoto, is now the oldest person in Japan, according to the Health Ministry.
