Russian President Dmitry Medvedev appointed Dmitry Rogozin as deputy prime minister. "I appoint you to coordinate the development of the military and industrial sector," Medvedev said at a working meeting with Rogozin at the presidential residence on Friday, Itar-Tass reported.

"You will work on the development of the military and industrial sector, our enterprises, will coordinate the issues of placing and consequently the execution of the state orders for the supplies of military hardware, other types of weapons and all issues related with the coordination of relations on relevant problems," Medvedev stated.

"I hope that our defence industry, the military and industrial sector will acquire a modern and vigorous manager in you," the president added to Rogozin.
