Five policemen were killed by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan, an official said Saturday, dpa reported.

The explosion in Trinkot city, provincial capital of southern Uruzgan province, hit a patrol vehicle, investigator Gulab Khan said.

The bombing took place in Choristan area Friday night, and injured another policeman, Khan said.
