US President Barack Obama will tell voters Thursday they face a choice between two different visions for the United States and ask them to commit to working with him to solve the nation's challenges, dpa reported.

"On every issue, the choice you face won't be just between two candidates or two parties. It will be a choice between two different paths for America," excerpts from Obama's prepared speech to the Democratic convention said.

Obama is to acknowledge the path forward is difficult given the economic challenges facing the nation, but stress that the problems can be solved with time.

"The truth is, it will take more than a few years for us to solve challenges that have built up over decades," he is to say. "It will require common effort, shared responsibility, and the kind of bold, persistent experimentation that Franklin Roosevelt pursued during the only crisis worse than this one."
