43 families lost homes in S. Philippine fire
At least 43 families lost their homes when a fire gutted 21 houses in southern Philippine city of Cotabato Tuesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Wednesday, Xinhua reported.
The incident occurred at around 3:30 p.m. in Bagua village. No casualties were reported so far, the agency said.
The displaced families are now housed in two evacuation centers, it said, adding that investigation has been ongoing as to the cause of the fire, which was declared out at around 8:00 p.m.
