Ukraine closes airspace for Russia (UPDATE)
Baku, Azerbaijan, Nov. 25
Ukraine entirely closed its airspace for Russian airlines, including those operating transit flights, TASS quoted Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk as saying Nov. 25 at a government meeting.
"Russian airlines and Russian planes no more have the right to use Ukranian airspace," he said.
In September, Kiev announced the imposition of sanctions on Russian airlines. The sanctions stipulate limiting or ceasing flights to Ukraine.
Russia, in response, announced similar steps.
On October 25, the two countries' air links ceased entirely.
