(RIA Novosti) - An international exhibition showcasing the latest technical developments in armaments for land forces has opened in Moscow, Russia's state-controlled arms exporter Rosoboronexport said Wednesday.
About 400 companies from more than 30 countries are participating in the Second International Defense Exhibition of Land Forces (IDELF-2006), which will continue through August 6. Organizers expect more than 1 million visitors to attend the show, reports Trend.
The demonstration of Russia's new designs will help the Defense Ministry to determine the economic viability of their further development, an official said.
Russia will present the BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, the BTR-80, BTR-80A and BTR-90 armored personnel carriers, the T-90S tank, the BMD-2 airborne fighting vehicle, and other modern weapons and military equipment.
The program of the exhibition includes thematic seminars and round tables, presentations, business meetings and negotiations and press conferences.
