President of Ukraine accepted credentials

(ForUm) On September 12, Austrian Ambassador Josef Marcus Vuketic, Estonian Ambassador Jaan Hein and Norwegian Ambassador Olav Berstad took part in a ceremony to present their credentials to Victor Yushchenko on Tuesday. Then he met each diplomat face to face to discuss bilateral relations, reports Trend.

Having praised the dynamics of trade between Ukraine and Austria, President Yushchenko and Mr. Vuketic talked about ways to enhance humanitarian cooperation. They also spoke about President Heinz Fischers visit to Ukraine in 2007, the president press ofice inorms.

The conversation with Estonias ambassador focused on ways tobuild closer economic ties with the ex-Soviet republic. Mr. Hein said his country would soon reestablish the Ukrainian-Estonian Trade Commission, which stopped working when Estonia joined the European Union. He also promised to support Ukraines Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

With Norwegian businessmen investing much in Ukraines shipbuilding, President Yushchenko and Mr. Berstad discussed investment cooperation. They also spoke about energy efficiency and ecology.

Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk attended the ceremony.
