A shoe was thrown at Turkish Environment and Urban Planning Minister Erdogan Bayraktar, the Haber7 TV channel website reported.
Bayraktar was greeted by protests arranged by a group of students at the University Okan, where the minister arrived to address the students.
When the police arrested activist students, Minister Bayraktar asked to set them free. But the activist students apparently did not appreciate the minister's goodwill gesture, and one of them threw shoes at Bayraktar in protest.
As the website reported, the shoe missed the target.
