Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) is fully ready to hold early parliamentary and presidential elections in the country, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said, Turkish media reported on April 19.
The emergency state in Turkey will not affect the holding of early parliamentary and presidential elections, according to Bozdag.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated about the need for early presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey.
"The government welcomed the proposal of Bahceli [Leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) of Turkey Devlet Bahceli] to hold early elections. The elections will be held on June 24, 2018," he said.
President Erdogan and Bahceli held a meeting and considered proposals of the MHP on holding early presidential and parliamentary elections in Turkey.
