Turkey hopes to strengthen its relations with the European Union, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said, Trend reports referring to the Turkish media.
According to him, the strengthening of relations with the EU and full membership of Turkey in this institution is in the interests of both parties.
Cavusoglu added that Turkey has the right to full EU membership.
The Association Agreement between the EU and Turkey was signed in 1963. Ankara filed an application for EU membership in 1987, but accession negotiations began only in 2005.
