Turkey's fruit exports to Turkmenistan increase

From January to August 2019, Turkey's exports of citrus and other fruits to Turkmenistan significantly increased, a source at Turkey's Union of Exporters of Fresh Fruit and Vegetables told Trend.

According to the source, in January-August 2019, Turkey exported 7,400 tons of fruits to Turkmenistan, which is three times more compared to the same period in 2018.

In the first eight months of 2019, Turkey exported fruits to Turkmenistan for $6.659 million, which is four times the amount of fruit exports in the same period of 2018, in monetary terms.

According to the union, during the reported period, Turkey exported 4,000 tons of citruses to Turkmenistan, which is three times higher than the citrus export figures in the same period of 2018.

In January-August 2019, Turkey exported $2.930 million worth of citrus fruits to Turkmenistan, which is 4.4 times the amount of citrus fruits exported in the first eight months of 2018.

During the reported period, Turkey's exports of fruits decreased by 20 percent compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to 1.962 billion tons. According to the union,Turkey's income from export of fruits and citruses decreased by 13 percent and amounted to $1.198 billion.

From January to August 2019, 742,336 tons of fruits were exported from Turkey, which is 5 percent less compared to the same period of 2018. In the first eight months of 2018, Turkey's income from fruit exports also decreased by 5 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to $546.332 million.

The union noted that in the first eight months of 2019, Turkey exported 598,292 tons of citrus fruits, which is 32 percent less compared to January-August 2018.

In January-August 2019, Turkey's exports of citrus fruits amounted to $256,659 in monetary terms.
