From January to September 2019, passenger air transportation in Turkey decreased by 1.9 percent compared to the same period of 2018 and amounted to over 161.259 million passengers, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
During this period, the share of passenger transportation by domestic flights accounted for 76.431 million people, which is 12.7 percent less compared to the same period in 2018.
The share of international flights accounted for 84.828 million passengers, which is 10.5 percent more compared to the same period of 2018.
According to the ministry, from January to September 2019, Turkey's three main airports (except for new Istanbul airport), Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Esenboga Airport and Antalya Airport, carried a total of 66.536 million passengers.
