From January through September 2019, exports from Istanbul and Ankara to the US exceeded $2.4 billion, a source in Turkey’s Ministry of Trade told Trend.
During the reporting period, Istanbul’s exports to the US decreased by 3.08 percent compared to the same period in 2018, amounting to $1.9 billion.
“From January through September 2019, exports from Ankara to the US grew by 9.16 percent compared to the nine months of 2019, amounting to $542.2 million,” the ministry said.
The ministry noted that in September 2019, exports of Istanbul and Ankara to the US amounted to $280.6 million.
During the reporting period, Istanbul’s exports to the US grew by 16.64 percent compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to $215.7 million.
“In September 2019, exports from Ankara to the US grew by 1.56 percent compared to the nine months of 2019, amounting to $64.9 million,” the ministry said.
From January through September 2019, Turkish exports to the US decreased by 1.97 percent compared to the same period in 2018, amounting to $5.9 billion.
Turkey’s foreign trade in September 2019 increased by 0.11 percent compared to the same period in 2018 and amounted to $32.1 billion.
From January through September 2019, Turkey’s total trade amounted to $286.4 billion.
