Transshipment volumes of nitrate, ammonium sulfate through Turkish ports revealed

In September 2019, nearly 2 million tons of ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate and ammonia were transported through the Turkish ports as a whole, a source in the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend Oct. 29.

As many as 786,408 tons of ammonia were transported through the Turkish ports, all transshipments were carried out by ships flying the flag of other countries.

“In September, there was no transit of ammonia through the Turkish ports,” the ministry said.

In September 2019, 341,742 tons of ammonium nitrate were transported through the Turkish ports.

“During the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 18,955 tons of ammonium nitrate, and ships flying the flag of other countries transported 341,742 tons of ammonium nitrate,” the ministry said. “There was no transit of ammonium nitrate during the mentioned period.”

The ministry noted that in September 2019, 854,505 tons of ammonium sulfate were transported through the Turkish ports.

“During the reporting period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported 70,811 tons of ammonium sulfate, ships flying the flag of their country transported 5,980 tons, and ships flying the flag of other countries - 777,714 tons of ammonium sulfate,” the ministry said.

In September 2019, there was no transit of ammonium sulfate through the Turkish ports.

In September most of the transit cargo through the Turkish ports was transported from Italy, China, Spain, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Egypt, Greece and France.

In September 2019, the total volume of transit transshipment through the Turkish ports amounted to nearly 56 million tons.
