From January to September of 2019, a total of 32,414 vessels passed through the Dardanelles Strait (Canakkale), 10,981 of which are cargo ships, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
As many as 1,242 cargo ships passed through the Dardanelles n January 2019, 1,115 cargo ships in February, 1,264 cargo ships in March, 1,233 cargo ships in April, 1,109 cargo ships in May, 1,334 cargo ships in June, 1,249 cargo ships in July, 1,263 cargo ships in August and 1,282 cargo ships in September, according to the ministry.
“In the third quarter of 2019, 127 warships passed through the Dardanelles,” the ministry said.
