Number of Turkish citizens looking for job in Russia decreases in 1Q2020

The number of Turkish citizens looking for job in Russia decreased from January through March 2020, the Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) told Trend on April 17.

The number of Turkish citizens who visited Russia via ISKUR to look for a job decreased by 65.1 percent in 1Q2020 compared to the same period of 2019.

During the reporting period, 275 Turkish citizens visited Russia.

In total, 4,077 Turkish citizens went abroad via the agency from January through March 2020, which is 23.9 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

In March 2020, 74,331 citizens were provided with job via this agency in Turkey.

Some 32.1 percent out of the total number of employed people are women, 67.9 percent are men.

Some 96.6 percent of the total number of the employed people in March 2020 accounted for the private sector.

In March 2020, the number of unemployed people in Turkey amounted to 3.7 million people, 48.9 percent of them were women, and 51.1 percent were men.
