Cargo deliveries from Georgia to Turkey climb

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30

As many as 1,140 trucks transported cargo from Georgia to Turkey during first four months of 2020, which is 29 percent more than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s International Freight Forwarders Association (UND).

"Georgia accounted for 0.91 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation to Turkey by trucks for the reporting period," the association said.

According to UND, in April 2020, 176 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Georgia to Turkey, which is 20 percent more than in April 2019.

From January through April of this year, 125,108 trucks from different countries transported cargo to Turkey, which is 7 percent less than in the same period of 2019.

"In April 2020, 20,616 trucks from different countries transported cargo to Turkey, which is 42 percent less compared to the same month of 2019," added the association.
