COVID-19 results in Turkey cargo transportation to France decrease

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 17

As many as 11,968 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Turkey to France in the first half of 2020, which is 25 percent less than in the same period in 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s International Freight Forwarders Association (UND).

"France accounted for 2.14 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation from Turkey by trucks for the reporting period," the association said.

According to the UND, in June 2020, 2,349 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Turkey to France, which is ten percent less than in June last year.

In total, 558,903 Turkish trucks transported cargo abroad from January through June 2020, decreasing by eight percent compared to the same period in 2019.

Some 99,165 Turkish trucks transported cargo abroad in June 2020, which is 6 percent less compared to June 2019.

As many as 9,619 trucks transported cargo from Turkey to France from January through May 2020.

In May 2020, 1,798 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Turkey to France.
