Turkey records growth in cargo runs to Georgia

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21

As many as 18,414 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Turkey to Georgia in the first half of 2020, which is four percent more than in the same period of 2019, Trend reports referring to Turkey’s International Freight Forwarders Association (UND) on July 21.

"Georgia accounted for 3.29 percent of the total volume of cargo transportation from Turkey by trucks for the reporting period," the association said.

According to UND, in June 2020, 3,845 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Turkey to Georgia, which is 22 percent more than in June last year.

In total, 558,903 Turkish trucks transported cargo abroad from January through June 2020, shwoing a 8-percent decrease compared to the same period in 2019.

Some 99,165 Turkish trucks transported cargo abroad in June 2020, which is 6 percent less compared to June 2019.

As many as 14,569 trucks transported cargo from Turkey to Georgia from January through May 2020.

In May 2020, 2,632 Turkish trucks transported cargo from Turkey to Georgia.
