The export of defense industry products from Turkey to Iran surged by 92.02 percent over the past 10 months of 2020 compared to the same period of 2019, surpassing $2.82 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.
In October 2020, Turkey exported defense industry products worth $371,000 to Iran, which has spiked by 7.8 times compared to the same month of 2019.
From January through October 2020, Turkey exported defense industry products in the amount of $1.8 billion to the world markets, which is 13.5 percent less compared to the same month of 2019.
Over the reporting period, Turkey’s export of defense industry products made up 1.3 percent of the country’s total export volume.
Turkey exported defense industry products worth $287.9 million to the world markets in October 2020, which is 11.6 percent more than in the same month of 2019.
Turkey's export of defense industry products in October 2020 amounted to 1.7 percent of the country's total export volume.
Over the past 12 months (from October 2019 through October 2020), Turkey exported defense industry products worth over $2.45 billion abroad.
