Turkey shares 2M2021 cargo, passenger traffic data at Antalya Airport

Around 6,514 tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish Antalya Airport from January through February 2021, which is 67 percent less compared to the same period of 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

Reportedly, freight turnover on domestic flights amounted to 3,961 tons, having decreased by 54 percent compared year on year.

At the same time, cargo turnover on international flights settled at 2,553 tons, which slumped by 77 percent in annual terms.

According to the ministry, in the first 2 months of this year, Antalya Airport served 586,897 passengers, which is 67 percent less compared to the first 2 months of last year.

“At the same time, 397,949 passengers were served on domestic flights, while a year earlier – by 60 percent more. Around 188,948 passengers were served on international flights, while a year earlier – by 76 percent more,” the ministry stated.

The ministry noted that 7,834 flights were carried out at Antalya Airport in the specified period, which is 47 percent less compared to the same period of 2020.

Meanwhile, 6,156 flights were carried out on domestic flights, a decrease of 31 percent year on year, said the ministry.

International flights through Antalya Airport in the first 2 months of 2021 slumped by 71 percent over the year, amounting to 1,678 flights.

From January through February 2021, the passenger traffic at all airports in Turkey amounted to 10.6 million people, and the cargo turnover - 373,201 tons.
