Turkey discloses volume of oil shipment via local ports for 9M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 23

Over 19.3 million tons of oil were transshipped via the Turkish ports in the first nine months of 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the specifying period, ships flying the Turkish flag transported more than 1.3 million tons of oil through the Turkish ports, and ships flying the flags of other countries – over 17.9 million tons.

Meanwhile, 35,614 tons of oil were transited and totally over 45.6 million tons of petrochemicals were transshipped via the ports, the ministry added.

From January through September 2021, the total volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 286.3 million tons, while ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 22.2 million tons of goods.

In the first nine months of this year, the volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 263.8 million tons, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, more than 57 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2021, the total volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 32.9 million tons. In this month, ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2.4 million tons of cargo, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 30.5 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.8 million tons of goods were transported in transit through the Turkish ports.
