Turkey's cargo traffic via Karasu port for 9M2021 disclosed

The volume of cargo transshipment via the Turkish port of Karasu in the first nine months of 2021 amounted to nearly 1.4 million tons, Turkey’s Transport and Infrastructure Ministry told Trend.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period ships flying the Turkish flag transported 42,287 tons of cargo, and ships flying the flags of other countries – over 1.3 million tons via Karasu port.

From January through September this year, no cargo was transited through the port, added the ministry.

In the first nine months of this year, the total volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 286.3 million tons, and ships flying the Turkish flag handled over 22.2 million tons of goods.

The volume of cargo movement via Turkish ports by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 263.8 million tons, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, more than 57 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.

In September 2021, the total volume of cargo shipment through the Turkish ports amounted to 32.9 million tons. In this month, ships flying the Turkish flag transshipped over 2.4 million tons of cargo, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 30.5 million tons.

Meanwhile, over 6.8 million tons of goods were transported in transit through the Turkish ports.
