The volume of cargo transshipment in the Turkish port of Kocaeli in 10M2021 amounted to over 57 million tons, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
According to the ministry, 4.3 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag through the port of Kocaeli, while 52.7 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.
"The Turkish port of Kocaeli handled over 1.3 million tons of transit cargo in 10M2021," the ministry said.
Around 318.9 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports from January through October 2021.
During the reporting period, 25.02 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag.
Around 293.9 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the flags of other countries through the Turkish ports from January through October 2021.
Moreover, 63.8 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports during the reporting period.
Some 32.4 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in October 2021.
Around 2.4 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag while 30.04 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries in October 2021.
