Turkey unveils transshipment of cargo from Algeria in 2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 10

Turkish ports handled 7,440,415 tons of cargo from Algeria in 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.

Ships under the Turkish flag delivered 316,612 tons of freight from Algeria to domestic ports, and ships flying the flags of other countries – 5,014,594 tons.

During this period, Algeria-flagged vessels transported 2,109,209 tons of cargo to Turkish ports.

At the end of 2021, Turkish ports handled 351,126 tons of transit cargo from Algeria, as a whole 386,396,718 tons of cargo in 2021.

During the reporting period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey through domestic ports amounted to 29,999,196 tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries reached 356,397,522 tons.

In addition, Turkish ports transshipped 78,008,944 tons of transit cargo in 2021, while in December this figure totaled 7,224,39 tons of transit cargo.

Freight traffic via the ports by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2,551,203 tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries - 32,893,234 tons.

Last December, Turkish ports handled 35,444,437 tons of cargo.
