BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 7. The Turkish port of Mersin transshipped over 11.9 million tons of cargo from January through April 2022, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
According to the ministry, ships under the flag of Turkiye through the port of Mersin transported 846,113 tons of cargo, and ships under the flags of other countries – 11.15 million tons.
Turkish port of Mersin transshipped 442,021 tons of transit cargo in the first four months of this year, the ministry said.
The ports of Turkiye handled 32.06 million tons of cargo in April 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkiye through local ports amounted to 2.09 million tons during the specified period. Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 29.9 million tons.
Turkish ports handled 7.1 million tons of transit cargo in April 2022.
Turkish ports handled a total of 130.8 million tons of cargo from January through April 2022.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkiye amounted to 6.05 million tons during this period. Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 121.8 million tons. Turkish ports handled 27.7 million tons of transit cargo from January through April 2022.
The ports of Turkiye handled 386.3 million tons of cargo in 2021.
Cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkiye amounted to 29.9 million tons during the specified period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkiye by ships flying the flags of other countries amounted to 356.3 million tons in 2021.
Turkish ports handled 78 million tons of transit cargo last year.
