BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 27. A number of 15,318 cars were delivered from the Turkish port of Cesme to the Italian port of Trieste from January through May 2022, and 14,818 in the opposite direction, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
Total volume of transshipment of cars between these two ports was 30,136 during reported period.
Turkish ports handled 194,766 cars in May 2022.
According to the ministry, in the reporting month, Ro-Ro ships delivered 82,593 cars to Turkish ports, while 112,173 cars were transshipped from the ports of Türkiye.
Besides, the country’s ports handled 939,616 cars from January through May this year, the ministry noted.
Meanwhile, Ro-Ro ships delivered 369,667 cars to Turkish ports, and 569,949 cars were sent from the ports, ministry added.
The ports of Türkiye handled 2.09 million cars, whereas Ro-Ro ships delivered 790,274 cars to the ports in 2021.
Totally, over 1.3 million cars were sent from Turkish ports by Ro-Ro ships last year.
