BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 5. Exports of steel products from Türkiye decreased by 39.4 percent to $4.6 billion from January through April 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, the Turkish Ministry of Trade told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.
"In April of this year, Türkiye exported steel products worth $1.1 billion, which is 46.8 percent less than in April last year," the ministry said.
From April 2022 through April 2023, the country exported steel products worth $18 billion.
For comparison, the total value of Türkiye's steel exported from January through February 2023 amounted to $2.2 billion, down by 35.2 percent on an annual basis.
From February 2022 through February 2023, the country exported steel in the amount of $31.6 billion.
Last year, the export value of the country's steel totaled $21.1 billion, decreasing by 5.3 percent on an annual basis.
